Lord of The Flies and Locke

The leading up to the ending of Lord of The Flies wasn't realistic. It showed the boys being very evil and decisive. In the beginning the boys were listening and respecting each other. As the book went on the boys were becoming like animals. For instance, they pretend one of the boys was a pig. They pretended to hunt the pig (boy) and kill it. If you look at the island itself it was a very beautiful place and in the end it was destroyed by the boys from the fire. This book would be describing human nature as destructive and bad. My philosophy states that the human natures of humans is to do good. This is why the ending was unrealistic.

Thesis: In the book Lord of The Flies the boys battle with human nature determining whats right from wrong;in general the boys were acting evil and destructive which is unrealistic behavior as humans.

The Sudanese boys experience I thought was inspirational and showed my theory. These boys helped each other along this long agonizing three month walk. The boys made sure they protected one another. One boy at 11, would protect the others from wild animals. Once they finally reached their destination the US government began bringing them to America for a better life. This is the largest resettlement in American history. America provides safety and new experiences. People are very accepting of the lost boys and just fall in love with them. One of the boys who went to America said " “I don't know much about America,” he says, “but one thing I like America very much because you think of others. You don't think of yourself.”
